Working with crops

Whether in Open Field or Greenhouse, improving germination, enhancing plant growth or increasing yield, TE AquAlign™ Systems has delivered results. Working from the role of water in healthy plant growth, our team established key performance parameters, and our technology produces water that meets those requirements. Water as a tool; naturally ‘aligned’ without the use of chemicals or additives, to deliver optimum performance for your crops.

Tomatoes

Fully organic for nearly 30 years, Van Hart Greenhouses is a multi-generational operation that is renowned for the quality of their produce. Over the years, Van Hart’s has developed 45 varieties of vegetables and experiment with over 300 different tomato varietals. In 2012, Ron Van Hart installed a TE AquAlign™ System on the drip irrigation system feeding one complete tomato greenhouse in order to assess the system benefits prior to a full-scale installation… and AquAlign™ delivered those bottom-line results.

Corn

One of the most challenging tests that TE AquAlign™ Systems has met took place on an Open Field, Non-irrigated Corn crop at Smith Farms. The owner, Tom Smith, considered an authority on Agricultural processes & was recognized as being one of Hundred Most Influential Canadians in Agriculture of the 20th Century. Mr. Smith asked TE AquAlign™ to demonstrate results on a one-time, single application at seeding and we agreed. In one of the driest years in a decade, from germination to yield, the AquAlign’ed corn excelled.

Celery

The germination of celery seed is a significant challenge, even for commercial growers. While some benefit can be obtained by investing in very expensive seed designed to enhance the germination rate, according to the owner of Horling Farms, this option is rarely exercised due to the annual cost-benefit analysis (inclusive of additional seed cost and all other factors). TE AquAlign™ Systems was used during seeding and in the greenhouse to generate a higher rate of germination with regular seed.

Tobacco

The tobacco plant is widely grown on a commercial basis around the world, and as with any cultivated plant, the tobacco grower has their own challenges. Dirse Farms employed TE AquAlign™ Systems technology with the express intent of achieving a faster rate of growth to maturity due to experiencing frost damage in previous years. And once again, AquAlign™ delivered that and more. It’s also of note that pepper and potato plants are contained within the same family group as tobacco; similar results for these plants would be anticipated.

Alfalfa

Alfalfa is the single most cultivated forage legume in the world. With a crop of this international importance, our Science team undertook a study to examine the delivered benefits of integrating AquAlign in the germination, early growth and drought resilience of young alfalfa plants. This was followed by a year-long field demonstration conducted by an AquAlign customer in Colorado (USA) utilizing center pivot irrigation over 7 year-old plants achieving impressive results.

Kenaf

With a wide variety of commercial uses, kenaf is grown around the world for its fiber, its edible oil and industrial applications. Ideally, kenaf grows best with high temperatures, long growing season, and abundant soil moisture. Kenaf, similar to all other plants, when grown in low soil moisture conditions requires a more extensive root structure to offset the adversity. This study was conducted to demonstrate TE AquAlign™ Systems ability to enhance root growth without slowing the plants’ overall rate of growth.
