Our Story
As with any story, that of TE AquAlign™ Systems’ creation rests upon the pivotal work of many individuals, however, our narrative begins with the introduction of Janice Byerlay to the ground-breaking research team that developed the original science underpinning what was eventually to become TransformancE™ technology. At the time, Ms. Byerlay was the Chief Operations Officer of an international woman’s fashion company, which was approached by this research group with a proposal to assess an experimental treatment of the water used during the fabric dyeing process. Due to the process’ reliance on large quantities of water, the researchers were confident that their treatment could provide a substantial and beneficial impact to the process’ operational efficiency. Interested by both the claim, and the science behind it, Ms. Byerlay agreed to the experiment. The results were startling. Not only had the experimental process reduced the amount of water and dye required for colouring the fabric, but it also significantly lessened the amount of time required, and thereby, the energy cost of production. Even more fascinating, both the quality control testers, and the fashion models, remarked on the softer texture, and generally better feel (hand), of the treated cloth.
With a background in science as well as business, Ms. Byerlay was fascinated by the results of this fledgling science and recognized the longer term potential could it be properly developed. She encouraged the Research team to continue its line of work offering insights, support and project collaboration. The association grew stronger and she was invited to become directly involved in the scientific process, its refinements and the assessment of real world application; personally testing many of them over the years. With the science defined, and lab testing producing consistent replicable results on several fronts, Ms. Byerlay recommended to the research team that it was now time to take the next step toward commercial development. The team, in turn, asked her to lead the charge.
Accepting their trust, Janice undertook to initiate and foster relationships with accomplished, visionary individuals in the business community who were open to the potential of this ground-breaking science; those willing to explore the possibilities of new scientific achievement. Chief amongst these industry leaders were the noted consultant, author, and globally renowned business speaker, Ian Percy; Business entrepreneur and Engineering guru, Cliff Suljak, with whom Janice partnered to face the challenge of transitioning the science, with its myriad applications, into a technology. The result of their efforts was TransformancE™; with the first of its iterations focused on water (back to where the research began).
There are many steps between having a technology and having a product, then still more on the road to commercialization. To make that journey, the team sought out Brian Marshall, whose diverse background includes multiple successes in both the corporate world and as an entrepreneur. His unique skill set and investment provided the means to develop the first generation of products, followed by the continued product development based on commercial field trials into the next generation systems, and finally placing those systems in hands of our Customers. Brian continues his direct involvement as the technology (and systems) finds new employment in a wide variety of Agricultural and Industrial processes.
Together, Brian and the TransformancE™ team formed TE AquAlign Systems Inc. to market, service and continue the development of innovative products which re-imagine water as a tool for performance in your business.
